WHAT ARE YOUR NEEDS?

The first step is understanding your needs. Develop a list of must-haves, nice to have, and wish list items. Not all contractors want what’s best for you, this is why you need to do your research and understand what you want. Nobody wants an overbearing contractor undermining your needs, make sure you are confident in your understanding of what you want and need. This will ensure no details are getting lost in translation.

BE REALISTIC ABOUT BUDGET

The second step, be realistic about your budget. When justifying the price you were quoted at remember, if they are professional and top-quality they will have these six things.

1. License and insurance

2. A physical location you can go to

3. Great and reliable customer service

4. Professional crew with years of experience

5. Warranty, your job should be warrantied for a numbered amount of days after the job is completed

6. The materials being used should be high-quality and tested

You’re not guaranteed a job well done, if you are not satisfied with the job they are not obligated to change that for you. Whereas, if you hire a licensed and insured professional to come out and do the job you will have paperwork stating a warranty to guarantee a job well done.
